Ask any leader what their company turned over last month. They will answer in three seconds. Ask how many calls went unanswered. How many leads waited more than 24 hours for a reply. How many follow-ups were never sent. How many times an important piece of information stayed stuck in someone’s inbox.
They won’t know. Not because they don’t care, but because nobody measures it.
The invisible problem
Companies measure revenue, costs, margins and growth. They have dashboards for marketing, CRMs for sales, spreadsheets for HR. But the friction between all these systems, the time lost in the gaps, the opportunities that evaporate in silence: nobody measures that.
What costs the most is precisely what nobody looks at.
The five dimensions
The Index measures five concrete, observable dimensions. Not impressions, not self-assessment: facts.
- Response timeHow long between a prospect’s first contact and the company’s first reply? Minutes, hours or days?
- Non-response rateWhat share of calls goes unanswered, and of forms left without follow-up? Often the most surprising figure.
- Follow-up qualityOnce a reply is given, is there a follow-up? Is the request passed to the right person, and recorded somewhere?
- Information dispersionHow many tools hold part of the client’s information? Every extra interface is a source of friction and error.
- Human dependenceHow many critical processes depend on one person’s memory or availability? What happens when they are away?
How it is measured
The Index is built on real observations, not on surveys where everyone rates themselves 8 out of 10. Data comes from the public contact paths of the companies studied: their website, forms, observable response times and the clarity of their contact process. All data is aggregated and anonymised; no company is named in the public report.
First edition in preparation. Data collection is under way with B2B service companies, with a focus on fiduciary firms and service agencies. To take part or receive your own friction diagnosis, write to hello@leadways.ai.
Why it exists
You cannot solve a problem you don’t measure. If you don’t know how many opportunities you lose every week, you cannot decide intelligently where to invest. The Index gives that visibility. The rest is a matter of choice.
Questions
Can I know my company’s friction score?
Yes. The free 20-minute discovery call includes a qualitative assessment of your friction. A full, quantified score by dimension comes with the Strategic AI audit.
Is the data public?
The aggregated report is public (averages by sector, trends). Individual data is never published. Each participating company receives its own score privately.
How do I take part?
Email hello@leadways.ai mentioning “Friction Index”. We will explain the process, which is free and without commitment.
